Part of the Yaogan-35 group 03 formation, launched 2023 to continue expanding China's mixed-sensor reconnaissance family. By this third Yaogan-35 group, the program had established a clear pattern of pairing with the roughly contemporaneous Yaogan-36 satellites, suggesting the two designations may represent complementary sensor types within a single, coordinated reconnaissance architecture.
