Gonets-M 23, part of Russia's sovereign satellite messaging constellation — functionally similar to ORBCOMM's American network but built entirely within Russia's domestic space industry. This satellite provides sovereign Russian satellite messaging independent of any Western commercial provider — a deliberate design goal since the system's Soviet-era Gonets-D predecessor.
