The final satellite of the September 2023 SDA Tracking Layer batch, completing the eight-satellite demonstration group. Together with the four L3Harris-built HBTSS satellites launched separately by the Missile Defense Agency, the WILDFIRE constellation formed the complete Tranche 0 Tracking Layer — a proof of concept for hybrid missile warning, tracking, and defense architecture that the SDA now describes as central to US homeland and theater missile defense strategy going forward.
