GNOMES-4, a commercial technology demonstration satellite testing GNSS radio occultation weather sensing hardware for PlanetiQ's growing atmospheric sounding constellation, part of a competitive commercial market that also includes Spire Global using the same fundamental GNSS radio occultation technique. PlanetiQ competes directly with Spire Global in this space, both companies betting that commercial GNSS radio occultation data can meaningfully improve weather forecasting accuracy where traditional ground-based instruments simply don't exist.
