Tianqi-31 is one of four IoT relay satellites launched together September 20, 2024 aboard a Kuaizhou 1A rocket from Xichang, part of the Tianqi constellation run by Guodian Gaoke, a company under China's State Grid power utility umbrella. The satellite relays data from remote, unmanned ground sensors across terrain too vast or isolated for conventional networks, supporting applications from pipeline and infrastructure monitoring to agricultural and environmental sensing. Guodian Gaoke has continued expanding the Tianqi fleet in subsequent launches, building coverage for China's dispersed industrial and utility infrastructure.
