Kinéis-3E is one of five satellites launched together November 4, 2024 aboard a Rocket Lab Electron mission from Mahia, New Zealand, part of the third of five dedicated launches deploying Kinéis's complete 25-satellite constellation. Built to succeed the Argos satellite-tracking system that CNES has operated since 1978, Kinéis's nanosatellites carry electric propulsion and fly in a low 400-mile orbit engineered to cut the wait between satellite passes over the same location from hours to roughly ten minutes. This satellite adds capacity to a network aimed at low-cost, near-real-time IoT connectivity for maritime, logistics, and environmental applications worldwide.
