Polytech Universe-4 is a companion satellite to Polytech Universe-5, both built by St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) and launched together November 4, 2024 as part of Russia's large rideshare mission from Vostochny (COSPAR 2024-199). Where its sibling carries an AIS and IoT payload, Polytech Universe-4 is documented as carrying a remote-sensing instrument instead, giving the pair complementary experimental payloads flying on the same launch. Like most of the roughly two dozen small satellites on this mission, it represents student and faculty engineering training rather than an operational system, flying alongside the primary Ionosfera-M scientific payloads that anchored the launch.
