SamSat-Ionosphere, radio designation RS75S, is a small ionospheric-research CubeSat built by Samara University, one of roughly two dozen small satellites launched together on Russia's large November 4, 2024 Vostochny rideshare mission (COSPAR 2024-199) alongside the mission's primary Ionosfera-M scientific payloads. Fittingly, its mission theme echoes the larger Ionosfera-M satellites it flew alongside: studying the electrically charged upper-atmosphere layer that affects radio propagation, GPS accuracy, and space-weather forecasting, giving Samara University students hands-on experience with a scientifically meaningful measurement rather than a purely technology-testing payload.
