The first of NuView's revolutionary commercial synthetic aperture radar satellites in geostationary orbit — an extraordinary technical ambition. Traditional SAR satellites operate from low Earth orbit to concentrate their radar energy; NuView is attempting to operate SAR from 22,200 miles altitude, which requires enormously more powerful signals. If successful, NuView Alpha would provide continuous persistent SAR surveillance of a fixed target area rather than the periodic passes of LEO SAR — fundamentally changing what persistent intelligence collection looks like.
