Part of the newest generation in The Aerospace Corporation's quarter-century CubeSat technology demonstration program, following AeroCube-16's materials science work and building on decades of accumulated small-satellite engineering experience dating back to the 1999 MEPSI mission. Each new AeroCube mission continues Aerospace's role as an in-house proving ground for technologies too experimental or unproven for immediate use on operational national security satellites.
