The second Yamal satellite, providing C and Ku-band connectivity across Russia's remote regions where terrestrial infrastructure is impossible or uneconomic. Yamal satellites are operated by Gazprom Space Systems — the space division of Russia's natural gas giant — primarily to support Gazprom's own oil and gas field operations across Siberia and the Russian Arctic, where corporate communications, SCADA monitoring, and operational data links are vital for managing the world's largest gas reserves.
