A BeiDou-2 inclined geosynchronous orbit navigation satellite providing enhanced coverage over East Asia. The IGSO orbital component was specifically designed to address China's military requirement for high-availability navigation over the Asia-Pacific theater — ensuring Chinese forces have reliable precision navigation signals even in environments where GPS might be disrupted by adversary jamming.
