An SES satellite at 87°W serving the eastern United States and Canada with C-band and Ku-band capacity. SES-2 provides the cable distribution backbone for eastern North American markets — the densest concentration of cable television subscribers in the world, from New England through the Mid-Atlantic to the southeastern US. Its Ku-band capacity also serves government and enterprise customers operating in the eastern US corridor.
