An SES C-band and Ku-band satellite at 22°W serving the Atlantic Ocean region including Europe, the Americas, and Africa. SES-4 occupies an Atlantic position that allows simultaneous coverage of three continents — a coverage geometry valuable for maritime communications across the Atlantic shipping lanes, for connecting European businesses with their American counterparts, and for distributing broadcasting to audiences that span the Atlantic.
