India's comprehensive communications satellite carrying the second GAGAN navigation payload alongside C-band and Ku-band communications. GSAT-10's GAGAN instrument extended the satellite-based navigation augmentation network that provides precise landing guidance across India. With two GAGAN-equipped satellites in orbit, the system achieved the redundancy required for aviation safety certification — an air traffic management milestone that India's aviation regulatory authorities had been working toward for years.
