The fourth Skynet-5 satellite and the most capable in the British military communications fleet. Skynet-5D carries improved anti-jam capabilities developed in response to the demonstrated threat of adversary interference with military satellite links. The satellite also provides enhanced polar coverage to support UK military operations in the Arctic — a growing priority as climate change opens the High North to competition.
