Third satellite completing the Yaogan-17 triplet, launched alongside its two formation-mates in 2013. This satellite and its siblings extended China's naval ELINT surveillance coverage that, combined with the earlier Yaogan-9 and Yaogan-16 formations, gave the PLA meaningfully denser Pacific tracking than any single triplet generation could provide alone.
