The third MUOS satellite, providing Pacific theater coverage. MUOS-3 supports naval operations across the vast Indo-Pacific, where maintaining communications with submarines, surface ships, and expeditionary forces operating beyond radio horizon is a constant challenge. A submarine can receive MUOS signals at communications depth while trailing a small antenna — dramatically reducing how often it must surface or shallow for comms.
