GPS BIIF-9 (PRN 26), launched in 2015, is a Block IIF satellite that replaced an aging Block IIA satellite that had served since the early 1990s — some of GPS's original satellites operated for over two decades before finally being retired, far exceeding their originally planned seven-and-a-half-year design life and demonstrating the remarkable durability built into the constellation's core hardware.
