Indonesia's dedicated satellite for BRI (Bank Rakyat Indonesia) — the world's first satellite owned and operated by a commercial bank. BRI is Indonesia's largest bank by assets and serves tens of millions of low-income customers across Indonesia's 17,000 islands. Many of these customers live in villages reachable only by boat or small aircraft. BRISAT provides the satellite communications backbone for BRI's rural banking network — connecting thousands of remote bank branches and automated teller machines across the archipelago.
