The fifth Global Xpress satellite, with focused spot beam coverage over Europe and the North Atlantic for maximum capacity where aviation and maritime traffic is densest. GX5 uses a high-throughput spot beam architecture that concentrates Ka-band power precisely where demand is highest — major shipping lanes, European airspace, and densely traveled North Atlantic flight corridors — rather than spreading it uniformly across a wide coverage area.
