The world's first fully software-defined commercial satellite — one that can be completely reprogrammed while in orbit. Every aspect of Eutelsat Quantum's operation can be reconfigured from the ground: its eight beams can be reshaped and redirected to any coverage area, its frequency allocations can be changed, its power distribution adjusted, and it can even detect and automatically counter jamming attempts by switching frequencies in real time. US defense contractor Peraton holds the majority of its capacity, using it for military communications and surveillance missions that change too frequently for a fixed-payload satellite to accommodate. Built by Airbus with ESA support, Quantum represents the future of satellite design — a universal platform that can be any satellite its operators need it to be.
