The seventh TJS satellite, continuing China's classified geostationary military program. China has launched more classified GEO satellites than any other nation in recent years, reflecting the PLA's view of space as an operational warfighting domain rather than solely a support environment. TJS-7's mission remains officially undisclosed, but its rapid succession in a growing series suggests operational military communications are the primary purpose.
