Lead satellite of the Yaogan-35 group 02 formation, launched 2022 as China's newer mixed-sensor reconnaissance family continued expanding at the same 35°-inclined orbital regime long used by the Yaogan-30 ELINT program. Yaogan-35 groups are assessed to combine optical, SAR, and signals intelligence capabilities within a single formation — a more integrated, multi-role approach than the single-sensor-type triplets that defined earlier Yaogan generations.
