The sixth and final planned SBIRS satellite, completing the global missile warning constellation. SBIRS GEO-6 brings redundancy and enhanced coverage to the system as the US faces a proliferating ballistic missile threat from multiple peer adversaries. Together the SBIRS constellation provides 24/7 coverage of every ballistic missile launch on Earth, making it impossible for any nation to conduct a surprise nuclear strike without immediate American awareness.
