Third satellite of the second Yaogan-36 SAR formation, completing the group launched in 2024. Yaogan-36 satellites are assessed to provide synthetic aperture radar imaging in coordination with the parallel Yaogan-35 mixed-sensor program, giving the PLA all-weather, day-night imaging capability layered on top of the naval ELINT surveillance mission inherited from the older Yaogan-30 constellation.
