Part of a five-satellite Gaofen-03D batch launched November 16, 2022 on a Ceres-1 rocket from Jiuquan. As the Gaofen-03D numbering approached and passed 50 units, the sub-series alone had become larger than most nations' entire national Earth observation programs — a single company's single satellite line exceeding what most space agencies operate in total.
