Kinéis-1C, one of 25 French nanosatellites building the first European constellation dedicated entirely to the Internet of Things — connecting sensors, buoys, and tracking beacons anywhere on Earth, including the roughly 90% of the planet's surface no terrestrial cellular network reaches at all. Kinéis inherits and modernizes Argos, the decades-old CNES/NOAA/EUMETSAT wildlife and ocean-tracking system that has followed migrating whales, sea turtles, and albatrosses since the 1970s — this new generation adds AIS ship-tracking and dramatically higher-power IoT relay to that scientific legacy.
