Second satellite of the Shijian-30 trio, part of a 2025 surge in Chinese Shijian program activity that also included Shijian-25's satellite refueling demonstration and the classified, multi-institution Shijian-26 mission. Of the roughly 50 Shijian satellites launched since the program began in 1971, some 38 remain operational — making it one of China's longest-running and most consistently active experimental satellite lines.
