One of the first CubeSats ever built, a 10 cm cube weighing barely 1 kg built by students at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2003. CUTE-1 helped define the CubeSat standard that has since enabled thousands of student and commercial satellites worldwide. Its simple FM radio beacon is still tracked by amateur operators — one of the satellites that launched the CubeSat revolution.
