Israel's primary broadcasting satellite at 4°W, broadcasting Israeli state and commercial television to domestic and diaspora audiences. AMOS-3 serves the Israeli market alongside Eastern Europe, where Spacecom has built a commercial business distributing content to Ukrainian, Polish, and Baltic cable operators. The satellite became a flashpoint when Russia jammed it in 2015 during tensions over its Ukrainian customer base — demonstrating how commercial satellites can become geopolitical flashpoints.
