The companion to Yahsat-1A, focused on high-throughput Ka-band broadband across Sub-Saharan Africa. YahSat-1B launched the YahClick satellite internet service — bringing affordable broadband to remote African communities in countries like Nigeria, South Africa, and Tanzania where terrestrial fiber serves only major cities. UAE's Yahsat has positioned itself as Africa's most important satellite internet provider, filling a connectivity gap where European and American operators have been slower to invest.
