A companion Russian direct broadcast satellite to Express-AT1, providing expanded Ku-band DTH capacity for Russia's eastern regions. Express-AT2's position optimizes coverage for Siberia and the Russian Far East — the vast eastern two-thirds of Russia where satellite television is often the only broadcast platform available.
