GPS BIIF-11 (PRN 10), launched in 2016, is one of the final Block IIF satellites, part of a 12-satellite generation that modernized GPS's civilian and military signal structure across nearly a decade of steady launches, replacing the last of the original 1990s-vintage GPS satellites that had by then vastly outlived their designed operational lifespans. Block IIF's 12-satellite production run took nearly six years from first to last launch, a pace shaped as much by careful testing between batches as by manufacturing capacity — GPS reliability depends on never rushing a generation into orbit before it's proven.
