GPS BIIF-7 (PRN 09), launched in 2015, carries the full Block IIF signal suite into an operational GPS orbital slot. By this stage in the modernization program, GPS had evolved from a purely military system opened to civilian use in the 1980s into critical global infrastructure underpinning everything from smartphone maps to precision agriculture to the timing signals that keep global financial trading systems and power grids synchronized.
