Belarus's first communications satellite, built by China and representing the deepening Sino-Belarusian cooperation. Belintersat-1 provides C and Ku-band services for Belarusian government communications, broadcasting, and broadband — reducing Belarus's dependence on Russian and European satellite capacity. Belarus's investment in national satellite infrastructure reflects the strategic importance its government places on communications sovereignty in a country that has historically occupied a contested position between major powers.
