The fourth Global Xpress satellite, expanding capacity in high-demand regions. Inmarsat-5 F4 added coverage redundancy and capacity to support growing in-flight broadband demand as more airlines equipped their fleets with satellite Wi-Fi. The exponential growth of passenger expectations for connectivity — driven by smartphone adoption and streaming services — made each successive Global Xpress satellite necessary sooner than Inmarsat had originally planned.
