Fifth of the six original Yunhai-2 satellites, launched together in December 2018 on a single Long March 2D. The synchronized six-satellite deployment reflects a deliberate constellation design: rather than incrementally building coverage satellite by satellite, China chose to establish the full Yunhai-2 radio occultation network in a single launch, immediately achieving meaningful daily atmospheric sampling density across the shared 50° inclination orbital plane.
