Second of the six Yunhai-2 (02) satellites launched together in March 2024, contributing to a doubled radio occultation constellation now capable of significantly higher-resolution atmospheric sampling than the original 2018 batch alone could provide. With twelve total Yunhai-2 satellites now assessed to be in the WMO's tracked constellation, China's atmospheric sensing capability from radio occultation rivals that of dedicated commercial operators like Spire Global.
