An Indian communications satellite extending Ku-band capacity across the Indian Ocean region, supporting maritime communications, VSAT networks, and government services across South Asia. GSAT-31 provides continuity of service for Indian customers as older satellites reach end of life — an increasingly important role as ISRO builds operational satellite maintenance capability alongside its launch and spacecraft development programs.
