The Wide Field of View satellite — one of the few classified US military GEO satellites with a partially acknowledged purpose. WFOV is assessed as a space domain awareness payload, using wide-angle optical sensors to monitor other satellites in the GEO belt. As adversary anti-satellite capabilities have grown, the US Space Force has invested heavily in surveillance of the geostationary arc itself, watching for threatening maneuvers by foreign spacecraft.
