The first satellite in China's Hulianwan ('Internet of Things') commercial GEO constellation — one of the first dedicated IoT satellites designed for geostationary orbit. Unlike LEO IoT constellations (Starlink, Iridium), a GEO IoT satellite covers a fixed region continuously from a single spacecraft. Hulianwan Gaogui-01 targets China's vast agricultural and industrial monitoring market, connecting remote sensors across Chinese territory that lack terrestrial connectivity.
