A joint Intelsat-JSAT satellite at 74°W serving North America and the Pacific. Horizons-2 occupies a prime US East Coast position providing C-band capacity for North American cable distribution alongside Ku-band for government and enterprise users. The Intelsat-JSAT joint venture arrangement at this position gave JSAT its first foothold in the North American satellite market while giving Intelsat a Japanese commercial partner for Pacific region operations.
