Vietnam's first satellite — a milestone that made Vietnam one of the few Southeast Asian nations to operate a national communications satellite. VINASAT-1 provides C and Ku-band services for Vietnamese government broadcasting, rural internet access, and enterprise communications across Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Its orbital slot at 132°E was a hard-fought diplomatic achievement, securing Vietnam's place in the geostationary arc before that orbital resource became fully allocated by larger spacefaring nations.
