The sixth WGS satellite, with a particularly important role supporting US Pacific Command and allied forces across Asia. WGS-6 carries capacity for allied nations under a cost-sharing arrangement — Canada, Australia, Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and New Zealand all contribute to WGS and receive allocated capacity in return, making it a key piece of the Five Eyes intelligence and military alliance's communications architecture.
