The successor to ViaSat-1, with nearly 300 Gbps capacity and coverage extending from the continental US to Mexico, Central America, and northern South America. ViaSat-2 also pioneered aviation broadband — providing fast satellite internet to commercial aircraft over North America and the Atlantic through JetBlue, United, and other airlines. ViaSat-2 made in-flight Wi-Fi fast enough to stream video reliably, permanently changing passenger expectations of commercial aviation.
