SES's most advanced satellite for the Americas, combining Ka-band high-throughput broadband with a flexible digital payload that can be partially reconfigured from the ground. SES-17 provides over 200 Gbps of Ka-band capacity for aeronautical, maritime, and enterprise broadband across the Americas and the Atlantic. Its digital payload allows SES to redirect capacity between beams in response to shifting demand — a precursor to the fully software-defined satellite model exemplified by Eutelsat Quantum.
