Cosmos 2584, part of Russia's newest GLONASS-K2 generation, carries a navigation accuracy specification under 30 cm — the sharpest positioning precision any GLONASS satellite generation has ever officially claimed, closing a technical gap with GPS and Galileo that Russian engineers have worked toward since the system's near-total 1990s collapse and subsequent Putin-era reconstruction.
