One of the newest Chinese data relay satellites, continuing the expansion of China's orbital communications infrastructure toward a full global constellation. Tianlian 2-05 represents China's sustained investment in the critical but unglamorous infrastructure that makes everything else in its space program possible — connecting crewed spacecraft, science satellites, and exploration missions to the ground continuously, regardless of where they are in their orbit.
