The fifth first-generation Tianlian satellite, extending China's orbital communications relay network. Tianlian-1-05 provides essential connectivity for the Tiangong Space Station crew — relaying voice communications, experimental data, medical monitoring, and high-definition video between astronauts and China's mission control in Beijing. The satellite also supports China's deep space missions and robotic scientific payloads in low Earth orbit.
